Consistently voted the Best Air Cargo Terminal Operator in Asia once again in 2006 for an unprecedented 10th time, SATS recognises the importance of maintaining a consistently high standard of service, continuous innovation and customer relationship management. During the financial year 2006-2007, SATS processed over 1.5 million tonnes of cargo.

Our Airfreight Terminals and Material Handling Systems are currently undergoing a comprehensive overhaul. Financial year 2005-2006 witnessed the successful completion of Phase 1 of the process in which comprehensive upgrading works to Airfreight Terminals AFTs 1 to 4 with both the outer facade as well as areas within the buildings, including an overhaul of electrical services, were carried out. As the upgrading works move into its second phase, cargo shipment storage space will be increased, cargo tracking processes will be improved, as will on-time delivery and uplift of cargo, resulting in greater operational efficiency, improved equipment serviceability and reliability on an overall basis.

We are the first in the world to apply Radio Frequency technology to cargo handling processes. Using radio frequency wireless technology, our Radio Frequency Data Terminals and Radio Frequency Identification Systems provide for real-time, online tracking and update of Unit Load Device movements in and out, as well as within the AFTs. Besides giving better control of the stock checking process, the systems also improve efficiency and accuracy in the cargo handling processes.

In financial year 2003-2004, SATS CargoNet, a web-based system that allowed for 24-hour, real-time flight and shipment tracking using the Internet platform, was launched. Users of CargoNet are able to electronically schedule delivery and acceptance times via the www.satscargo.com portal.
